I had a “D-Link DNS-323 2-Bay Network Attached Storage Enclosure”, connected to my HOME NETWORK, since November 2011, but now I can´t access, write or read data from said storage unit. I already try several times to perform a new installation and setup but I did not got any satisfactory results, so please help me to make again the proper installation and setup.
I am especially interested to know a procedure to repeat the installation and setup steps, but without formatting, erasing or losing the data the two hard disk drives that were originally configured as a mirror for disk redundancy in a single Volume, with the RAID 1 option.
In addition to any problem with my hardware of software It happened that when the application for the DNS-323 configuration is trying to access the D-LINK WEB SITE, I got the following message: “Could not Connect to web server 10.0.1.21”, so the configuration process was not completed.
It got a “D-Link DNS-323 2-Bay Network Attached Storage Enclosure”, with the following identification data:
Model: DNS-323
S/N: P1UJ2AA000951
PN: CNS323A….C1
H/W: Ver.: C1, F/W: Ver.: 1.08
MAC ID: 5CD998C3858A
The DNS-323 unit is equipped with two Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drives.
My HOME NETWORK is equipped with the local Internet provider Modem, one “APPLE Time Capsule Wi-Fi Hard Drive B272LL/A Model 1254, one “TP-LINK 8-Port 10/100M Switch” Model TL-SF1008D, the DNS-323 Network Storage Unit, two Hewlett Packard Laptop PCs, two APPLE Laptops, and one HP Office Jet Pro K8600 Printer connected via the USB port of the DNS-323 Unit.
I think that the problem starts one week ago, when I was cleaning my desk and softly moving the DNS-323, the LEFT left drive LED illuminate AMBER as a signal of a drive failure. After that, I remove and insert again the LEFT Drive, and all LEDs illuminate blue again. Then, I manually rebuild the failed drive to eliminate a degraded disk warning message.
Then, It became too slow the process to read and write data from the DNS-323 Storage Unit. The access time was larger for folder with many files and in several cases, it was not possible to reach any files, and I got the message: “Volume 1 is not accessible”.
At that moment I try for the fist time to check or modify the configuration, so I access the Easy Search Utility but:
When I select APPLY in the LAN menu, a got the following massage:
“Set to dhcp client fail”
When I select CONNECT in the DRIVE MAPPING menu, a got the following massage:
“Set to Drive Mapping fail¨
At this moment, If I access the Easy Search Utility no any D-Link unit is found even if I select “Refresh”
