Unable to share 3tb usb hdd. Why?

I need to share a 3tb western digital elements usb. Dns shows the drive, but i can't see it in my network. Any solution?

Simple answer.  The USB port is only for transfer to/from the NAS - generally as a backup - and is not available to the network other than a standard print server.

To share the data on your USB disk you first have to copy it to the DNS-345 then it can be shared over the network.
