The router reboots after downloading big files, the modem stays connected to the internet. I bought the router about 3 weeks ago (from canada computers, has a 14 day return policy)

The router will reset itself after 45-115 seconds and says this before it reboots "received signal 15, good-bye"

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.

What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
Has a Factory Reset been performed?
By what means are you downloading files? Browser or program app?
Is it only large files that cause this condition?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
Double NAT
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values

Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.
Turn off ALL QoS or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
Enable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
If IPv6 is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only or Disable IPv6 options under Setup/IPv6.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding rules. Disable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming if IPv6 is not being used.
Turn off WISH, and WPS under Advanced.
WAN Port Speed set to Auto or specific speed? Some newer ISP modems support 1000Mb so manually setting to Gb speeds can be supported by the router. Advanced/Advanced Networking/WAN Port Speed
Set current Time Zone, Date and Time. Use an NTP server feature. Tools/Time.
 
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended.

What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.

Factory Reset: No have not done, did a master reboot but left firmware the same
Programs: Torrents
Seems to be larger torrents greater than a gb if speeds exceed 1mb/s (when i notice it)

Provider: Teksavvy - Cable
Modem: DCM476
Modem - in bridged modem, router has outside ip address
MTU: set to 1500

I've fooled around with the majority of the settings and it still acts up.

Was a factory reset performed both before and after updating FW?
What version of FW was previously loaded?
Was it doing this with previous FW?

The router came with the current firmware of 2.10NA - i was locked out of the router a few days ago and held the reset for 30 seconds and unplugged and then plugged back in... unplugged and plugged in again. The router reset.

It was restarting before and after the lock out. The logs were taken from after the lockout.

Are you downloading multiple files or one single file?
Are you seeing multiple upload files as well?
You maybe hammering the connections if your seed connections are high. Try lowering to a single file and test. Graduate adding more seeds and test.

Any chance you can test this out on a different ISP modem? Would be good to know if this problem follows or not.

One thing to check as well, make sure the cable line going into the ISP modem is in good working condition and if there are any TV line splitters on this line, they should be removed as they can lower signal or introduce noise on the line. If one is needed, used 1 good quality splitter. Dedicated Cable line is preferred though. Have your ISP check the signal at the modem on there side.

Downloading 1 file at a time when it was rebooting.

Dont think it is rebooting anymore however, I just downloaded/streamed while watching the hockey game...

The cable modem is directly connected to the input from outside (we have an antenna on a different line)

It appears that tweaking all the settings has fixed the issue. I am noticing that my download speeds aren't exceeding the 1.5mb/s which i believe was triggering the restart.

I will gradually increase the speeds of the torrent downloads and see if that causes any issue.
