If you read through the manual, you'll see screenshots of the tablet and mobile phone app. The screenshots show a Recording On/Off toggle button for all cameras linked to the DNR-202L. The manual should answer these types of questions.
Regarding the contiguous video clips, I encourage you to post some questions in the DNR-202L forum so other owners of the device can relay their experience. The two open questions I have are (1) video clip file length and (2) DCS-2136L support (this is a fairly new camera).
