You are not alone. I have the same problem that started today.
I have the DIR-655
H/W ver. B1
F/W Ver. 2.11NA
I have time warner cable ISP through my Motorola SB6120
I tried reseting the Router, after that isn't work I noticed a firmware update. So I updated it. After the router restarted I set it up.
My iPhone could now see the signal but when I input the password, i received and error stating "invalid password".
I then went into the admin area and reset the password. the router had the reset for the changes to be applied.
After the router reset the signal was gone again.
As the router is no longer under warranty customer service will only help if you pay. not to happy about that.
I figured I'd just jump on here since i'm having the same issue, instead of starting a new topic. If your not having the same issue let me know so I can start my own topic
Edit:
I just thought i'd let you know I got mine working again.
I tried changing settings in the manual setup wireless area and after changing a bunch of stuff its working again. So I started changing setting back to the original setting to see if it would still work.
I was able to change every thing back except the "Enable Auto Channel Scan", When I turned that back on it gave me the incorrect password error again.
