I have recently added a DAP-1522 to my DIR-655 in bridge mode. These are my issues, and I am wondering if anyone has any successful experience with this...
On my DIR-655 (A3, 1.20) (DAP is 1.20), I have DHCP set up with a pool from .10 to .100. There are several reserved IPs in the pool. I also have one PC used as a game server with a static IP outside of the DHCP pool with some ports forwarded to it. In that configuration, I had absolutely no issues.
I added the DAP to be able to connect a blu-ray player and to connect all of my G wifi devices, leaving only N on wifi. This did improve my wifi speed.
Here are the problems, and these occur no matter how I set up the DAP (dynamic IP, dynamic reserved, static):
1. I have a linksys WMB54g. I can access the web admin panel with no problem. However, the client does not find the device to connect to to stream audio.
2. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ONE... No matter how I connect my Samsung BDP-1500, as soon as I turn it odd and the light goes to red, the network is flooded with IP conflict messages and all routing on my LAN is broken. It also does this as soon as the DAP connects wirelessly if the Samsung is connected.
3. I am pretty sure this is related to the Samsung issue, but I am not 100% sure, so I am listing this separately...In conjunction with the IP conflict messages and broken routing, I am getting messages in my DIR-655 logs that indicate a "LAND Attack" with messages blocked from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.1, which is my router address.
Any help/suggestions/etc. would be helpful. I am about an eyelash away from sending this thing back, and canceling the DWA-652 I had on order in hopes of boosting my laptop speed further. I am also wary of upgrading to firmware that is being reported as unstable in all different places on the web without the ability to go back.
