I was having VPN disconnects - even SSH sessions to my proxy resetting.  I hard set my channels (assumed there was channel overlap in my neighborhood).  Haven't lost my VPN or SSH sessions in over a week.

I appear to have resolved the issue by unchecking Application Level Gateway (ALG) Configuration, PPTP. I was led to give this a try after I found this in the log:

PPTP ALG rejected packet

It appeared about every 3 minutes, about the same time the VPN dropped.
