Hello,
What is really nice is to have as less material as possible.
My printer is not used a lot (and draws less than 1 Watt in sleep mode) so it is always on and prints when needed.
Of course, I could buy a peripherical to put my printer on the network (draws power too).
Perhaps I could buy a network printer (even more expensive, and draws a lot of power, but my old printer is still working).
Perhaps I put the printer on one computer and start it when I want to print (go in the other room, switch on...)
I could also buy a PC and let it run 24/7 (a lot of power), but in this case, I can replace the router and the computer will be the router

Or, have a router that has a USB port.
Personally, it is the way I prefer. It is the least expensive (a router doesn't draw a lot of power and must always be on for the network to work.)
And this feature was running perfectly before (1.2x firmware series).
The only problem is that this feature is broken since the 1.3x series (and there is no mention of it on the web site), and no downgrade path. (so once you did the mistake to upgrade to 1.3x, you are in trouble).
