I'm trying to Connect an Externall Hard Drive to my Router USB Port.
will my Network Auto detect the Hard Drive or do I need to change anything
As long as your firmware supports it, it should work.
Go into Basic / USB Settings in the router web interface, and make sure it's set to Shareport.
The one issue is that you can only be logged into the device on one machine at a time. One workaround is if you use a server, you can attach the device to that server, and then share it out to the rest of your network.
Also, you have to use the D-Link USB Network Utility to attach the drive to the computer of your choice.
Go to this page
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DGL-4500&tab=3, click Additional Downloads under the Support Resources tab, and you can download the Mac or PC Shareport utility and manual...
Hope this helps,
Hank
