I did not see an option for PORT mode so I am trying to use passive mode. I checked the "report external IP" box, but I am not sure which IP address to put in there (I used the IP address that was showing in my dlinkddns account).
Port Mode will be available in the FTP CLIENT configuration settings... not the DNS-323
And Yes You need to put the IP that dlinkddns reports you.
I am not exactly sure what IP address to put in the dlinkddns account either. I noticed that is changed today (I am on another network now) from yesterday when I was at home.
dlinkddns should report the current networks IP you are accessing the site from...
Meaning if you are at home it will give you your home external IP address
But if you are alsewhere, it will report that sites external IP.
Also, if everything was set up properly, do I just type in my user name.dlinkddns.com in a web browser to access the FTP server from another network? Or do I type in ftp://server ip address in a web browser?
You will need to type ftp://yourusername.dlinkddns.com
NOT the IP you gave to the DNS-323.. .(ie: ftp://192.168.0.32 <-- Will only work from inside your network)
Is there a way to map the ftp server in my computer? I can provide screen shots if it would help.
I don't understand what you mean by mapping the FTP serer?
Do you mean mapping a Drive letter to the DNS-323 ? If so, "Yes You Can"... juste use Windows "Map Network Drive" and select the letter you want and click on the browse and browse to the desired folder in the DNS-323
If you mean access the FTP from inside your network... just type in ftp://192.168.0.32 (or your DNS-323 IP address)
