So I have an odd issue here with my wireless setup. Hopefully someone can help. I have my router (dir-655) set up as follows: wpa2, AES only, mixed g/n, channel 9, firmware 2.07NA. All wireless devices are approximately 15 feet from the router with clear lines of sight.
My issues are two fold. First, my Roku and iPhone 5 no longer communicate with each other. Through the Roku app I could control my Roku using the iphone on my old Lynksys router (b/g only). Now that I have set up this router and am broadcasting on g/n the two can no longer see each other. From the router I can see and ping both devices. However, the Roku is on the n-mode while the iphone sticks on the g-mode.
When I switched so that the router only operates in n-mode the iphone still shows up as operating in g-mode and the devices cannot see each other. When I switch to g-mode only both devices register as connected in that mode but they still cannot see each other. Again, I can see them both from the router and can ping both devices.
Any ideas?
The second problem is tangential. When pinging my roku the trip times average 2 ms. When pinging my iphone the travel times average 300 ms. Does this matter?
