DSC 5020 works, but 5030 gives timeout
« on: November 15, 2016, 08:13:54 AM »

Hello, I have 2 DSC models installed 5020 and 5030. The 5020 seems to work consistently on my iPhone and most of the time on the iPad. The 5030 keeps giving me "Set config timeout, please try later (Error 0.70_2_5_E_3FF00000000). This happens almost all the time on my iPad.

This device is connected wirelessly via a Linksys EA4500 over a DISH sat internet connection.

Any ideas?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.20 and .30  DHCP

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com

Unfortunately, I am not near the location and will not be for a few weeks. Is there a method for getting this info remotely?

Help- not sure what DSC's website you are mentioning.

Unfortunately, I am not near the location and will not be for a few weeks. Is there a method for getting this info remotely? If these are associated with the mydlink.com service, you can access the cameras web page by logging in to the MDL service, then select the camera. It should load then select Settings tab. Scroll down and find the Advanced settings button. It should take you to the cameras web page what you would normally see when your at home connecting to the cameras web page.

Help- not sure what DSC's website you are mentioning. Use the IP address for the camera and input this into IE or FF browsers and this will take you to the cameras web page when you locally near or on the same network as the cameras.

Both cameras are up to date on firmware. The timeout is not consistent but very frequent. UPNP on or off didn't matter. It is much more frequent on my ipad vs my PC. Any the iPhone seems to work most often -  but not always.

Any ideas?

I use static IPs for my one camera. Been connected well and I don't see issues with my service. uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding is enabled here.

This problem is still happening. Anyone have any other ideas I can try. The webcams are up to date with the latest firmware.  DLink Support - Anything you have for me to try would be appreciated. The error code I get is

Config Timeout - Set config timeout, please try later. (Error 0.70_2_5_E_3fff0000000.38d)

Thanks

Something you may want to phone contact D-Link support about or create a ticket. Had this issue once before with my 933L. Created a ticket and it's been good since. This maybe a mydlink service issue.
