Well, after not finding much help online, I just decided to try and do stuff myself. I'm a complete newbie at networking so it was like taking blind steps.
The manual isn't much help with other blogs have already talked about so at least I didn't feel bad there.
I tried calling their support and I was LITERALLY helping them! And I know nothing! I'll make sure to let others know on Tom's Hardware, etc. about my horrid support experiences and if I didn't own another D-Link product, I'd never buy again. Although from other sites, I can tell their horrid support is no secret to most

Anyway, here are my questions now:
I think it is working because I connected it to my laptop, disconnected from the wireless SSID it normally connects to, and it now shows a wired connection icon. And the speed is pretty nice!
But there are things I don't get.
1) When I go into the status of my DIR-655, it shows a connection from 192.168.0.183 with NO name under LAN Computers, as well as my laptop and desktop (with their respective computer names). But in the 1522 setup under Network Settings, I have a device name (Netbios name) there. Shouldn't this be showing up so I can tell it is indeed my 1522 device?
2) On the 1522, when I go into wireless setup which I configured manually, how come I can't change the band, the mode, the wireless channel, etc? They are all greyed out. The only things I can set are the wireless name (the SSID of my router which is what I entered) and the channel width. Everything else is greyed out.
For example it has band set to 2.4/5 even though the DIR-655 can only support 2.4 so i guess it doesn't matter, but I'd like to maybe change channels to see if speed increases, etc.
Thanks in advance!
