I have my first wireless n product. It is a dell 1745 with the intel 5100 wireless card which I understood is 802.11agn. However, the laptop is only connecting a 54 not 300. I have verified the dir-615 is set to broadcast (if that's the correct word) for both 802.11g and 802.11n. I have other wireless g products connected to the dir-615 and those are connecting at 54 as they are supposed to. I have tried narrowing the problem down by changing the dir-615 to broadcast in n mode only and the intel 5100 card cannot connect to the dir-615 so I changed it back to the mixed g and n mode.
why isn't the intel 5100 card connecting at g speeds? I'm not very technical and understand a little bit of the technical stuff, so any extra steps/clarification in a reply would be appreciated.
BTW, I'm running windows 7 64-bit home premium if that makes a difference.
