V8 permissions question?
« on: January 07, 2010, 02:39:57 PM »

I have two users defined on my nas. They both belong to a "Users" group. I've noticed that any files user 1 puts on the nas, user 2 can access but not change. I assumed as they were in the same group, they would have the same access. Obviously not the chmod settings I expected?

I think this issue may have been self inflicted. I used fun_plug to copy all my data back to the nas over USB after upgrading to V8 and formatting as ext3. I note that the nas seems to use 777 permissions on all files created normally, whereas the files copied over had something else. Have chmod'ed to 777 and all is well.
