DIR-615 and DWA-130 in WinXP SP3
« on: January 11, 2010, 07:45:41 PM »

I have a DIR-615 HV:C1 FV:3.11NA that I can't get to route properly with a DWA-130 HW:C1 FW:1.20 in Windows XP SP3. I'm using the driver from

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa130_revC/Drivers/dwa130_revC_drivers_110.zip

DHCP issues an IP address successfully, but I am unable to ping the router. I did a quick reinstallation of XP to see there might be a driver conflict but the behavior is identical. The same DWA-130 adapter will connect and route to a D-Link DI-524. An Airlink101 AWLL3028 USB wireless adapter plugged into the Windows XP SP3 computer will successfully connect to the DIR-615. I have a second DWA-130 with the same HW and FW versions that works fine on a different computer with Vista SP1. That second DWA-130 exhibits the same non-routing behavior on the XP machine. I have had the DWA-130 work on the XP machine in the past, but I can't seem to get it to work now. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Disabling wi-fi protected setup seems to have cleared up the issue. I'll post an update if I run into any other problems.
