You will need to setup the AP as a bridge. I have found this is best accomplished by setting the switch manually to bridge.
If you have a laptop you will need to connect it to the accesspoint via a ethernet cable. Go into the laptops ethernet settings and configure tcp/ip to address (192.168.0.2). After this change takes effect you will need to login to 192.168.0.50 from your web browser and configure the device to connect to your wireless network. Once it is configured, verify that it is working (I usually try to connect to the router which is 192.168.0.1 since it won't need DNS). You can then undo the settings on your laptop.
If you do not have a laptop, you can configure it from a PC in the same manner, the device will save its settings when it is shutdown. However, keep in mind it can take about 1-3 mins for the device to reconnect to the network when it is moved.
Best of luck.
Purchased a dap-1522 from newegg(goodprice) but my satisfaction ended there. Called the support number in India or whereever they are and suggestions disabled my internet service and had to call my ISP to get reconnected. will not call 877-453-5465 again but try to get help through you.
What I am trying to do is get wireless access for my new television(have dish network) and my DVR box has an ethernet connection.
Do I configure my DAP-1522 on AP,Auto or Bridge?
I am in the Dlink page that shows setup status advanced across the top. Also I am using a Dir-655 router for my wireless network.
My question is where do I go next and how?
