D 652 and Dell Latitude cpx

Hi, I recently purchased a DWA 652 wirelss card for my dell computer laptop latitue cpxj model. I attempted to install the card to no availability. I downloaded the recent drivers/software and attempted to install the card, the computer freezes and hangs up wwhen the program requests the card to be inserted to complete installation. I remove the card from the pmcia slot and the computer goes back to normal. I do have windows XP service pack 3 installed on it.

I have read here and all over the net, but have not come up with anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure if I have a hardware/software issue.
