Access point security
« on: January 23, 2010, 10:06:50 AM »

I have a DIR-615 in the bedroom but its to far from where I use the pc's so I ran a network cable to a nearer room from the first router and connected a second DIR-615 to it to use as an access point. Problem is when I enable access point it turns any wireless security off. How do I secure the router im using as an access point? or am i setting it up wrong, all i did was tick the access point mode box. Id appreciate any help.

I recently set up a 615 as a WAP and security works fine. Look at the manual and make sure you did the 3 or 4 operations that are necessary. I did not use the wizard. The manual is at: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565 click on support resources, choose you revision, then down load the manual. The instructions are on page 10.
