This seems to have fixed things for me too. Seems very stable and reliable.

Same here!! I'm extremely satisfied so far with firmware 1.33NA. All this time my router would not go more than a day before it would drop connection and reboot. But after upgrading to 1.33NA it has been stable 4 day rock solid so far. I was almost in the impression of not to buy a D-Link product again but this sure has changed my mind. Thanks so much D-Link!!

So what exact feature was causing the instability inside the 1.32 code base?

I doubt they will ever disclose that - makes them look bad on a closed source project.  As long as bugs are patched, we should be happy again.  Downgrading will certainly never come back because of the HNAP issue.

Ubicom must be pissed at Dlink because the 1st gen IP5100 routers were awesome and hopefully this is the end of all Ubicom based routers.

They won't disclose. Unless you're a firmware developer I doubt it's very interesting

My very educated guess is that the HNAP issue is not that big a deal and certainly not the reason for blocking downgrades. And even more educated: there's more flaws in 1.2x that could explain the downgrade block  ;)

I have noticed the forums slowing down since this firmware came out which is a good thing.

The time is right for some new features to provide some new challenges  ;D

Router was up and stable for about 21 days then froze requiring hard reset.

Guess that's just the way it is with the whole 1.3x firmware tree. The days of of 1.2x and 365 days of uninterrupted uptime are long gone.

Can't wait for my Dlink to die so I can replace with something more reliable.

Well if you feel that way then why wait.

Start a firmware upgrade then halfway through shut off the router....new router time is here  ;D

I tried that Cobra, this router has mechanism to overcome that. It seems if it has a firmware binary waiting in its flash, it will automatically flash itself with that firmware every time it boots up. I haven't tried pressing reset during a flash though IIRC, that might kill it :D.

Ubicom apparently built in a self-protect mechanism into this line of routers chipsets.  If the flash update doesn't go 100% proper, it doesn't take and the router keeps the current firmware.

I guess this is a good thing.....unless you are trying to self brick it....

Frankly, just get a hammer out and do it the easy way if you are that willing to blow $100....

you could easily just disable the wireless and use the thing as a decent 4 port Gb switch....

If I had wanted to do it that way, I'd have brought it to a firing range, much better than using hammer IMO.

Since going back to stable eu firmware i will never go back to the buggy NA firmware.
Even shareport 1.15 in eu firmware is stable.
