1.33NA seems to be working fine here with my A2 router.
DNS relay and advanced DNS enabled and no more problems so far.

Quick question on the firmware: I'm currently running version 1.32NA.  Will this factory reset the device?  I have the config file saved on my machine, but I'm remoted in the machine and don't want to get myself locked out if it's reset.

Not a big deal to wait until tonight if so, just thought I'd ask.

It did over here. And a tip: just reconfigure manually.

I was stable for about 25 days-then randomly all my advanced settings were once again lost. I found out when a friend couldn't reach my Subsonic site. Finally did the downgrade to 1.21 after a year of this nonsense. I don't think I'll ever buy another D-Link Router.

FYI, just performed the upgrade on mine.  It did factory reset the device.  I rebooted the device twice just to see if the old settings came back (they did not).  I was however, able to restore via config file without issue.  I've rebooted it a couple of times since and everything seems to be holding and pretty stable.

Configuring manually is an option to prevent data loss that can occur. 9/10 times it will work OK.

I did my upgrade to 1.33NA about a week ago. First, it would not let me load my config from previous version, so I was stuck with manual config. I did take screenshots so I'm pretty sure I got my settings rebuilt properly. Second, the wifi is no longer stable. I have frequent disconnects for all devices that connect wirelessly. At first I thought the problem was the wifi card in my laptop. But I'm seeing the same in the wifi for my phone and also the wireless access point for the Xbox. So I have to say it's the new firmware on the router.

Also, I tried Shareport 1.10 after the upgrade, and it does not work for any devices I connect to it. First tried the Kodak printer, but I did expect problems with that. But it while it will see any device plugged in to it, it errors out when I try to connect to the device. So that's my final try with Shareport!

Installed quickly, and all configurations remained the same.

The only oddity is occasionally when CHrome my admin login wont work. It simply refreshes the page with no error and nothing in the password box. Not always but sometimes. I was unable to replicated on either FF or IE.

Thanks dlink, love your products. Especially when they work.

I've never done a firmware upgrade ever, so after reading all of the posts, I was wondering if it is even worth it.  I don't know any of the terms you guys are using.  All I use my router for is internet surfing, downloading and streaming from netflix.  That's really all I know how to do, so is it worth it to do this upgrade?  I do know how to go to my router settings, but most of it is a different language to me.  PLease help.

If it ain't broke, Don't fix it!
I use my router for all the same reasons you do along with Shareport functionality.
Based on my own upgrade experience of going from 1.21NA and 0.93 Shareport, to 1.33NA and 1.10 R Shareport on A4 version of 655.......I am very thankful of having the ability to downgrade provided by another poster.
1.21 works fine for me, having figured out what settings keep my router stable, including Shareport ver. 0.93 which has no difficulty mounting as many as 4 different external drives and or printers (one at a time) attached via powered USB hub, from any computer on my network with Shareport installed.
Firmware 1.33NA seemed to offer some further advantages in security and setting's flexibility, so I upgraded.
The firmware itself seemed to be stable....I have never run it for more than a day.....my problem was with a non functional Shareport ver 1.10 R, in regard to my external hard drives. It was just plainly wonky!
It would see the drive, mount OK, but when I selected a file, it would loose connection and hang Win Explorer or whatever app I was using to open the file, until I reconnected the drive via Shareport utility and round and round it would go.
When this would happen, I would also drop my Internet connection?
If I did not use Shareport, all seemed fine. In fact, that version of Shareport did work fine with my printers....just not my hard drives.
I did a hard reset to my router prior to upgrade before, as well as after, and manually entered my settings. I had previously uninstalled the earlier version of Shareport and installed the 1.10 R version with changes in my Win Firewall Advanced settings and within Shareport itself as to broadcast addresses. I reflashed my firmware to make sure I did not have a bad flash and upgraded/downgraded several times over the course of a week.
None of my efforts were productive in regards to shareport and its conflicts with my hard drives on any computer within my network.
Again, I must state Shareport ver 1.10 R worked fine with my printers.
Whatever I would gain with 1.33 NA firmware did not balance against my Shareport problems with my hard drives, especially when all worked well with original firmware/Sharerport.
So after each day of frustration, I would downgrade back to 1.21 & original Shareport, and all would be good again. I have upgraded/downgraded 3 times in my efforts to get Shareport working properly (firewalls on/off, firewall settings changed, re-flashes of firmware)...enough already!
So, YMMV....If you do not use Shareport or use it just for printers, you may be fine with an upgrade.
However, if you are not educated in the use/settings of your router, and it works just fine for you as it is....Don't fix it...... Personally, I would not advise it.
As far as I could tell (please enlighten me if I am incorrect) "the HNAP security issue that 1.33NA fixes, isn't that serious, it is only an inside-LAN-issue" and no D-Link representative has officially stated it was an issue with the 1.21 or lower firmwares.
So unless you have some malevolent individual who is ethernet cabled to your network, this is a non issue.
Thank you for the time you took to read this, hopefully this will save you hours of unwarranted frustration if you have a similar experience such as I did.

Thank you for the detailed information.  I definitely sounds way out of my league, and my router is working fine as is.  I was told by a computer guru friend that updatign my firmware would help with my home network.  He was a linksys guy and said he didn't know much about d-link, so go to the forums and ask around.  You have been more than helpful.  Thank you.

Thanks for your insightful post. I am tempted to pdf it, for future reference. I did not think there was any way to downgrade a firmware update, but you seem to have it figured out.

I did not figure out how to downgrade, another poster did....I "can verify" that downgrading works.
For steps on how to do downgrade, check this thread:

It's funny, I was also posting on dslreports, and you both sent me to the same process. That's a good sign.

Thanks!
