Done with this.
« on: January 31, 2010, 04:26:42 AM »

I have this router and have found it to be a frustrating journey.  I play MW2 online and am having huge lag issues. Tried beta firmwares and now the 1.22 release. I have tried port forwarding and also putting my playstation in DMZ mode with no success.  Also wifi disconnects on my laptop.  This is an expensive router and expected so much more.  I have come to the conclusion I am about to throw this router away. I have my own computer business and recommended and used only DLINK routers.  As of today I will no longer be recommending or selling any DLINK routers.  Bad bad bad customer service DLINK.  I also hear of firmware problems on other DLINK routers. Going to go buy myself a linksys today and give that a go.  BTW forum is a great service but was very discouraging to see so many people struggling with the same issues. ( I have a 14mb download and 480 kb upload with out the router so I shouldn't have the lag issues.  I can be in a game with everyone full connection and there I am 1 or 2 bars down and ofcourse lag.)

Why don't you roll back your firmware to 1.15 and see how that works first?

Been running great with v1.22 on my A1 HW. I use the gaming and gamefuel settings listed in the sticky. I'm running xbox on the wired. My MacBook Pro is wireless at Mode N on 2.4Ghz. No disconnects like in Beta 1.21 08.

I did two things tonight before I unpacked the linksys router.  Firstly as suggested I downgraded to Firmware 1.15 and I replaced my cabling with cat 6 and all I can say is WOW.  First time in about a year I have lag free gaming. It is fast, smooth and amazing.  I guess tomorrow the linksys router goes back. Oh yeah, wireless been connected all night with out any disconnects.
Thank You.
