DGL 4300 Wireless Connection Problem

So I have had this router for awhile and just put it off to the side because I couldn't get the wifi to work.  So, I decided to try and get it to work again and use it on my iPod Touch.  Whenever I set up the network it doesn't show up and sometimes it will show up with 1 Bar which makes no sense if the router is right next to me. So if you could please help me that would be nice.
