Slower results than I use to get but still I can't even get anywhere near that when I send files through AIM and it's really irritating I use AIM alot I need to figure this out

Don't use speedtest as the results get wacked because of Powerboost.

Example....below is what I get from speedtest.net on a fairly regular basis and I only have a 16/2 connection.

Speedtest is the only thing that IS accurate for me. That other site says my speeds are way slower than I actually upload/download. I always take note of my speed or the time it takes when I upload/download. I pay for the 20 Mb plan and that's what I get. Every time I download from a site that allows full bandwidth I get 2.5 to 3.0 MB which is 20 to 25 Mb. I download whole movies in like 4 min or so. And when I upload songs to random site it takes like 7 seconds or less 500+ KB/s. But when it comes to AIM can't get over 64 KB up which I was able to do on an old very cheap DSL connection that was like 1.5MB 150 KB down and 60'ish KB up...

I have used this for XP 32, Vista 32 and Vista 64. I don't have a "real" W7 yet, VM only.

I ran under W7 VM with no problems. It is unknow if I "fixed" anything.

Here is how you use the tool:
1. Drag connection speed all the way to 20000 (or you max DL rate)
2. Check "Modify all Network Adaptters"
3. At bottom, highlight "Optimal Settings"
4. Apply Settings.
5. OK.
6. Reboot.

and, enjoy!!

They should all be around the same value.

And your ISPs bandwidth meter is really no good, it tests "in network" speeds (mine with Speed Boost). Real-life speeds are found with the others.

Yeah most of those show similar results to my speedtest.net I don't even go by tests though I download and upload real files to/from different sites and I see the downloads go 2+ MB (3000 KB/s) etc down and 500+ KB up so yeah I still need to figure out why my pc won't let me send higher than specifically 64 KB it's via AIM it's like something is stopping it. I don't know.

So you ported forwared both TCP 4099 and TCP 5190 ?

And you verified both ports are open when aim is running?

http://www.canyouseeme.org/ is a easy way to verify.

I know you said you tried, but just verifing you did these ports and made sure they were in fact open.

That's odd. This site is accurate right? Working? I put 5190 in both TCP/UDP and forwarded my computer IP address. Should I be forwarding to another IP like my routers IP?

I tried some other sites as well and they all say my ports are closed! WTF!? I double checked everything and I did port forward correctly so what else could it be? I don't even have a pc firewall on right now and it allows all the programs I use anyway. I knew something wasn't right...

I used to have problems with port forwarding (probably fixed in later f/w releases) but I dont care. I'm sticking with 1.2, anyways, try virutal server, kyou probably need to reboot the router manually. You will also want to forward the same ports on your software firewall that is installed on your computer.

I don't have any firewall software just windows firewall and I tried disabling it and the ports are still closed. I tried port forwarding router, virtual server, even DMZ and they are all still closed. I even ran it directly to the modem and the results still said closed on various port test sites. This is so irritating. I mean I can sign on AIM for example and use the program, but that's not the point. All my port tests fail. I need to know what is causing this. It's not the modem and apparently not the router either? So what else is left... It's not firewall or anti virus software either.

It's a Motorla SB6120 but I called my ISP and they said it doesn't block ports...
