Hi,
Spotted another issue!
Hopefully there will be some one correcting this in a new firmware or something!?
If you do want to block a client (let's say one of your kids) from using the internet between
22:00 (11:00 PM) to 07:00 (7:00 AM)
You do create a scheduling rule for that and use it in "Network filtering", then adding the PC's MAC address to block the client access using that particular schedule!
Problem 1
You can't schedule something starting one day and ending another day, it must be on the same day!
(00:00-23:59)
Then i thougt, fine I just create 2 scheduling rules then!
I Created one between 22:00-23:59 and another one between 00:00-07:00
Problem 2
You can't add a MAC address to be blocked more than once in the "Network filter/MAC Filtering rules" setup! (To use more than one scheduling rule to block a particular client!)
D-Link support adviced that instead of blocking the client, create a rule that only allow it access between 07:00-22:00! My question was then, is it only the specified PC's MAC address that will be blocked?
"Sure" they told me!
Problem 3
All clients are then blocked by default! Except the one you only granted access between 07:00-22:00!
This means you would need to add all clients MAC addresses to the router using a separate schedule that allows them access 00:00-23:59 Otherwise you will be out of luck!
This must be changed!
I can't update all the MAC addresses for visiting friends etc, there is also a limit to the number of entries in that list!
D-Link would need to solve this issue to schedule a rule for example between 22:00-07:00 or at least you would need to be able to add the same MAC address to more than one schedule in the settings!
So D-LINK Pleeeeease!
Give us an new firmware that updates"Scheduling/MAC Blocking" and the "External Syslog Server" problems.
