Slooooooow really slow
« on: February 05, 2010, 12:40:01 PM »

I have just bought the DAP-1522. I already have the DIR-655 router and thought i should have a faster (802.11n) connection between these two, than the connection between my DIR-655 and the built in 54G in my PS3. I'm using the DAP-1522 as a bridge. But sadly where my PS3 can make a connection at 54Mbps the 1522 barely make it at 39Mbps and more often like 26 Mbps or as low as 13 Mbps. Thats just not good enough. Is this piece of hardware just ****? Or can any of you give me some advise to pump the speed. Please help.

By the way, after i updated the firmware to ver. 1.21 all the wireless network settings is gone in the web administration interface.

you have to use IE , not firefox to set up . why do you expect good rates using G ? What are your N rates ?

I'm using N between my DIR-655 and DAP-1522 and i'm only getting 39, 26, or 13 Mbps. To compare my PS3 G rates are 54Mbps.
I should mention that later yesterday i saw the DAP-1522 connection was up to 104 Mbps. Thats more like it, but now it's again down to 26 Mbps. My wifes notebook with N is constantly around 110 Mbps.
And the DAP-1522, the PS3 and the notebook is in the same area in the same room.
As it is for now i would not recommend the DAP-1522 for anybody.
By the way thanks for the tip about IE, that made the difference :)
