I have 10 network device that I would like to static the ip address so that I have a more reliable connection. If I do this would I need to disable DHCP or change my range to .100 to .110? I also want to create a guest zone with only two available ip address .111 and 112. After applying static address would I need add them to the access control list? There are four hard wired devices, 6 wireless and 2 wireless guest. Thanks in advance for the help.

i have not played with guest zone but you can set a static ip address on the computer itself you just have to use an address outside of the range that it gives out for example mine gives out .100-.199 so you could use (not .1 that is the router) .2-.99 or .200-.254 being how they are outside of the range of ips it is giving out.

or you could set a static dhcp in dhcp reservations list so your computer uses dhcp but it just always gets the same ip and you dont have to set it on each individual machine. i do that for things i am forwarding ports for because otherwise the ip changes and you would have to change your port forward.

there is no separate dhcp service for the guest network. You can do both as far as static. If you want the pain in manually setting each client IP address go ahead. Just set each on outside the DHCP range of the router. Or reserve the IP addresses. You cannot deny a computer an IP address otherwise. If you want to segment your network then I suggest adding another router or a switch with VLAN support. No one has control over the guest network and how it functions..oh well! dem be da breaks b'y.

With the dns reservation it is only allowed one device corrrect?

As for a static address. I got my router at .10 range at .100 to.110. I can change the range to .100 to .102 then make all my devices .99 and under. Correct?

you can have as many dhcp reservations as the range allows. and yes. you can have comptuers in xxx.xxx.x.10 and xxx.xxx.xxx.11 set statically etc..
