I'm running f/w 1.06.

On the DNS-323, I've setup a folder "Media Content" with 3 sub-folders: "Music, Video and Photo".

I've enabled UPnP AV in the DNS-323 and set my folder to Media Content and clicked the Refresh button.

On my Centrios Internet Radio, I can see myUPnP server.  I can see my Music folder as well as the Artists and Albums.  When I click on the Album or Artist I get "No File".

Why can't I see/play the music files associated with Artists/Albums?

I'm having exactly the same problem on my DNS-323 (firmware 1.08).

I created a "Media" folder and 3 sub-folders: "Music, Video and Photo". After enabling and refreshing the upnp server on that Media folder, two upnp-client apps (WMP in Windows 7 and PlugPlayer in iPod touch 3) can see the upnp server but cannot see subfolders/content inside the 3 sub-folders aforementioned (both apps give an error. WMP in Win7 points to an issue in the upnp server).

I had briefly used the upnp server a couple of years ago on the same device (but older firmware) and it worked back then. I'm guessing this issue might be a bug/regression introduced by a newer firmware?

The meta data needed for this function is not available when when accessing the files using the UPnP AV media server. The UPnP AV media server provides the meta data title name only so it is listed by title name only when viewing your media files.

OK I understand why we cant browse by Artist or other settings.. and also why we dont see cover arts...

But tell me this...
Why is it when we try to access the uPnP AV Server from Windows Media Player (Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate)
we get an error saying "The Remote media library did not allow the connection"
Should'nt it let us see the folders and Title of the Video... if the only MetaData sent is the Title Name...

Most like the name of the directory has some special characters.  I used to have a couple of directories that I couldn't get access to, because I have ' in the name of the directories.  Removed that char, everything worked.

I dont think its a naming problem....
I can access all my media using a WDTVLive and my Xbox360 with no problem.

Its just with Windows Media Player.. it does see the DNS-323, but for some reason its not able to connect to it.

Currently WMP11 or 12 does not work with the UPnP AV media server on the DNS-323.
