Timeout errors with Torrent writing to DNS323

I had the system set up with two identical WDC -WD10EAVS-22D7B1 drives configured as a raid-0.  I feared that after several months of good use, that the unit was getting rather fragmented as speed seemed to be slowing down.

So I backed everything up (that was a real pain) and reformatted the unit with no raid, so now I have 2 volumes with about 1TB each.  When I was copying back, if I had more than one computer write to the DNS it would time out and abort both copy processes.

But I eventually got it all copied back.  Now I am trying to use it to write to with uTorrant to get a copy of ubuntu, and it keeps on crashing with an error

I never had any issues when I had a stripe set.  Is this a problem with going to an individual drive configuration?
