I recently replaced my HP Officejet 7310xi which worked great using a DPR-1260 USB connection, which then is connected to my DIR-655 router. All functions worked, printing and scanner. (The 7310 finally went belly-up, so it had to be replaced).
So now, I am using a Lexmark Pro-901 multifunction, which only will work with the Ethernet connection, and the 901 scanner function works just fine too. (The Pro-901 is identical in all ways to the Pro-905 except that the 905 has 2 paper trays, where the 901 only has 1 paper tray).
Whenever I try to install the 901 using the DPR-1260 setup wizard, (and the Status/Setup clearly sees the 901 on the USB-2 port as "Ready", but with NO Scanner detected), and I select the USB-2 port, when I click "Next", I get the famous "Oops! This page appears broken. HTTP 404 - File not found" message. Lexmark states clearly that this printer will work with BOTH Ethernet AND USB connections, wired or wireless, simultaneously. The 901 is NOT in wireless mode at the present time, but the DPR-1260 IS in wireless mode, of course as is the router.
Am I to assume that this is due to NO Compatibility whatsoever, since it is not on the list? And if so, why is it recognized in the status mode as ready? My USB-1 port is currently used for a HP laser printer w/o a scanner, and works just fine. My firmware is current at 1.24 for the print server.
Any suggestions as how to install it working on USB using the DPR-1260?
