Just installed the Canon Pixma mx850 multi-function.  I can print, but the DPR-1260 says no scanner found on the Scan section.

As you can see in the below FAQ, that printer is not listed as compatible for scanning.  Thanks for the report.

So there is no chance of the print server working with this very common canon multi-function printer, via a firmware update?  Would think dlink would do more to ensure compatibility with common printers from major manufacturers.

I really didn't want to have to ditch my DPR-1260.  It is pretty reliable.  Good thing the printer came with ethernet connectivity.  Guess I'll have to move things around so that I can plug the printer directly into my router.

We have only ever supported scanning with a dozen models, unlike printing there is no standardized way it is handled.

I would advise that any printer with Ethernet connectivity be connected with it regardless of circumstances.

Just installed an Epson WorkForce 310 multi-function on the DPR-1260 Ethernet port and it seems to be working fine for printing. I haven’t tried to scan or updated the firmware on the sever yet.

There is a slight chance of it working for scanning given we support some Epson scanners, however I still wouldn't hold my breath.

Remote scanning seems a curious goal anyhow, you are going to have to run back and forth to manipulate the scanned object, why not just hit the button while your there?

That said, this is another Ethernet enabled device, hooking it up to a print server makes less sense than fighting for peace.

Last update. Installed firmware 1.24 and the DPR-1260 can now see the printer via the USB port but it doesn’t recognize the scanner. Back to the Ethernet port.

Any compatability problems with the Dlink Dir-628 dual band router and an Epson Sylus Photo R320 printer?  The "ease" of installing this router which was supposed to take "minutes" turned into a few hours and somehow the printer still does not get recognized by the router.  The modem talking to the router is fine, again after a couple of hours of setting even with the help of an IT knowledgable friend of mine, who was actually here to look at it.  New firmware 1.24 was installed, despite the Dlink device telling us that the previous version WAS the updated version.  Again we searched through to find the new firmware.  Again not easy and not minutes.

Works with the Samsung CLP-510 Colour laser.  From XP and Vista 32 and Mac OSX 10.6
.  Slow to print large files like pdf's or pictures but I think that is typical for this print server on wireless

Well... I'm having some awful problems with my CLP-510. It worked great on my old system. However, with my new system, I've installed Vista 64-bit. The problem I'm having is with the driver. If I connect the printer directly to my computer via USB, it works fine and prints. When I reconnect it to the DLink and then try to install the printer, it keeps saying that it cannot find the driver and I need to insert the CD or point it at the driver location. I've downloaded the driver from Samsung and pointed the DLink at that directory, but it says that it cannot find a suitable driver. HALP!

I have a Samsung CLP-300 color laser printer, and no matter what I try I can't get the driver instaled. I have 3 printer connected to this , and would like to the samsun color laster as my default.

Everytime I try and install the driver it says it can't find the driver with the name of "CLP-300".

I have a Epson Stylus Photo 1200 and although listed as compatible on the list, it is NOT.  Anyone know which "independent" lab tested them, and what was the firmware version of the  DPR-1260 used in those *tests* ?  Current firmware version I have on the DPR-1260 is ver. 1.24... hoping an earlier firmware version was compatible.

I recently replaced my HP Officejet 7310xi which worked great using a DPR-1260 USB connection, which then is connected to my DIR-655 router. All functions worked, printing and scanner. (The 7310 finally went belly-up, so it had to be replaced).

So now, I am using a Lexmark Pro-901 multifunction, which only will work with the Ethernet connection, and the 901 scanner function works just fine too. (The Pro-901 is identical in all ways to the Pro-905 except that the 905 has 2 paper trays, where the 901 only has 1 paper tray).

Whenever I try to install the 901 using the DPR-1260 setup wizard, (and the Status/Setup clearly sees the 901 on the USB-2 port as "Ready", but with NO Scanner detected), and I select the USB-2 port, when I click "Next", I get the famous "Oops! This page appears broken. HTTP 404 - File not found" message. Lexmark states clearly that this printer will work with BOTH Ethernet AND USB connections, wired or wireless, simultaneously. The 901 is NOT in wireless mode at the present time, but the DPR-1260 IS in wireless mode, of course as is the router.

Am I to assume that this is due to NO Compatibility whatsoever, since it is not on the list? And if so, why is it recognized in the status mode as ready? My USB-1 port is currently used for a HP laser printer w/o a scanner, and works just fine. My firmware is current at 1.24 for the print server.

Any suggestions as how to install it working on USB using the DPR-1260?
