HDD errors, Scandisk wont run, and SMART fails
« on: March 04, 2010, 02:39:10 PM »

I am having issues with my DNS-321 having patchy performance and very slow read times. The last 2 days it has been basically unresponsive, this afternoon i got scandisk to run through once and that has improved the performance to the point of usability but i still have some patchy issues with slowdowns. Also I cannot get Scandisk to work again. I was wondering how to go about fixing the issues from SMART failed status file.

You have a failing hard disk!  That's the first thing to deal with.
