« on: March 05, 2010, 02:00:16 PM »

Hi, I have 4 hardwired and two wireless computers on the DIR-655 router and Im trying to set "schedules" under the Securespot Parental Control features..Im highlighting and saving the times under the individual computers but its not working..Im trying to turn off the internet to my kids at 11pm but it stays on..Am I also suppose to go into the "schedule rules" under the firewall tab and do something there? Thanks

I don't use the SecureSpot to schedule the internet usage at home. However, you can use the available tools in the router:

You must first create a schedule under Tools->Schedule. Select the days and times as you want your internet to turn off. Name and save the schedule and then reboot the router. Next, go to Advance->Access Control. There you would click to enable Access Control then click Add policy. Click next, give a name to your policy. Click next again. Here you would select the schedule by clicking the drop down menu and you should see the name of your newly created schedule. Click next to go the next screen. This screen lets you select either the computer names or their ip addresses to be under the control of this policy. If you have statically assigned (or DHCP reserved) IP addresses to your computers, then you must enter them manually. Otherwise click on the drop down menu to select the IP addresses. Each time you click OK the IP address appears in the block below. Click next. If you want to turn off ( or block all ) internet access after 11, assuming this is what you set in your schedule, click the block all access. Click save. Your kids will groan like mine.
