DNS Problems
« on: March 06, 2010, 04:45:18 PM »

Hey.

I am having DNS problems for some sites and sites cannot be reached nor resolved even though the sites are online.

Like the sites work fine for 30mins then the site on my side goes down for awhile and then it works again after awhile and then it goes down again.

When I go into my Network Connection and manually put my ISP DNS IPs in the TCP/IP, then the website work, but when I leave it on AUTO then it does not work.

I have latest Firmware 1.33NA.

Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

Someone here in another post suggested to use this tool.  It will tell you what DNS server is the best and which ones are flaky.  Try that and maybe you can find a better DNS server.

Personally I use bind9 combined with OpenDNS so I have a local DNS cache server that can be used through out my LAN.
