DNS-323 with Netflix?
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:00:59 PM »

Anyone know if there's a way, or perhaps a future AddOn, that will allow the DNS-323 to work with Netflix?  That's the one piece of video that I need another application and my PC running to view.

Out of curiosity - how would you view it if you didn't have your PC running an application?

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.

I have a DSM-520 and DSM-750 hooked up to my TVs.  I tried the PlayOn application and that worked, but required that I leave my PC on.  I know there are several players out there that can do this (including the XBOX).  Hopefully it's something that the DNS-323 can do as well.

I assume that you are wanting the NAS to grab the video from Netflix and then serve it up to your other equpment via the Media Server?  Nice idea, but I doubt that it has the horsepower to do that.  Even if it did, I am not aware that Netflix has ported their software over to linux. I think it is proprietary to Netflix.
My advice is get a Roku box or a Netflix capable Blu-Ray player.  I have both and love them.
