Trouble with VPN on remote router, need advice
« on: March 08, 2010, 05:13:00 AM »

Hello,

I have been having trouble getting my VPN connection to be stable on the receive side of my connection. I can get it to work temporarily by turning off the ports that have been forwarded to allow the VPN connection, saving, rebooting, and then turn them back on again, saving and again rebooting. This seems to work for a little while but then they seen to stop forwarding after a short while. Does anyone have any tips as to what the best way to setup a VPN connection through the router?

I have only been using port forwarding for ports 500 UDP, 4500 UDP, 1701 UDP, and 1723 TCP. I also have the ALG for VPN on as well. I also have the AGL for VPN turned on.

Thanks in advance.
