I know you have touched on this several times but a search did not help my situation.
I am using a comcast.net email account. I have tried to set this up with sender email the same and with a gmail account I have. I have used both ports 587, 465. my server is set up as smtp.comcast.net with authentication.
I still can not get it to sent an email. When I click on send email now I do get a pop up box that says
"email will be sent to myname@comcast.net". But when I refresh comcast's email page I don't receive it.
Using DGL-4500 1.22NA, 2010/01/19
Any Ideas?
Ooh, I can help with this. Now I don't know all that much about Comcast, but I suppose its pretty universal.
First go into Comcast online email site and make sure any rules, filters or spamm settings are off. This will make sure your not receiving the email for some simple reason. This will also confirm that the username and password are correct. Then go make sure any and all email clients are shut down or deactivated. Then use:
From: Username@comcast.net
To: Username@comcast.net
Server: SMTP.Comcast.net
Port: 465
Enable
Account name: Username (No @cox.net)
Password: Your password
Verify: Your password.
If that doesn't work, screw it, just use Gmail. Heck, use gmail anyway. I just wanted to see if there is a solution. For more info, I also found by Comcast.

PS. Am I incredibly dense or is the graphical interface for this forum non functional? What code is it? Sure in heck isn't HTML.
