From Vol1/2 being RAID1 to Vol1/Raid and Vol2/JBOD
« on: March 14, 2010, 06:53:48 PM »

I don't know how this happen. When I bought the unit I know I set it up as RAID1(Mirrored). Just happen to be looking at how much free space I had left when I noticed that It's not a RAID1 setup.  Vol-1 is RAID1 and Vol-2 is JBOD is empty.

Is there anyway to put my system back to RAID1 without having to format both drives?.

The better question to ask is how did the system change from RAID1 to what I have now??

I have only done upgrades for the firmware, which I have now 1.08.

Chances are that's exactly how you first set it up - if, when you create the RAID array, you don't utilize all of the available space, whatever's left is used in a JBOD volume.

No - there is no way to fix it without a reformat.

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.
