Cannot add more access rules
« on: March 18, 2010, 06:56:00 PM »

Everytime I tried to add a new rule for an IP address not already in a rule, the router throws and error saying I can only re-use the addresses already defined in rules.

Is there a limit on the number of addresses rules can be specified for?

Using 255.255.255.0 I can use 256 addresses, so I would hope that the router could at least cater for this.

Is there a way to specify address ranges in the access controls?

Eg, instead of listing each address one by one I could list 192.168.1.101 - 192.168.1.119??

Thanks
Tanya

All the rules I have ever entered are entered one-at-a-time as instructed by the web page.  Your idea of entering a range would certainly be easier, but I have never even tried that.

Sure would. I can enter up to 6 or 7 addresses in a rule, but after about 30 - 40 addressed are spefcified across all the rules, I can no longer add any more rules using any of the rest of the 255 addresses, well 252 actually, when you count router etc.
