New printer

I setup my printer to connect to my laptop via wireless connection. Once I successfully connected my printer my laptop lost connection to the internet. It was still connected to the network and there were no errors present. After resetting my router I decided to delete the wireless settings off of my printer but there were no changes. I'm using my smartphone to connect my laptop to the internet. What should I do?
