Music dropouts when using P2P
« on: March 31, 2010, 02:59:33 PM »

Hi all, I've been experiencing dropouts lately when streaming music from my 321 to xbmc while the p2p client is downloading in the background.

What I've been wondering is if the disk is too slow, or if the combined throughput is just too much for the 321 to handle. I have two of those slow, 5400 rpm WD Green disks, so would I be better of with faster ones, or should I just throttle the p2p speed? If throttling is the answer, anyone khave any advice as to a good speed to set it to?

Thanks in advance.

Re-asking my earlier question in a different way: Does anyone have any advice as to how I can configure the DNS-321 to be able to download torrents at the same time as streaming media over the local network without adverse effects to either?

I've tried adjustments to the p2p download speed as well as the qos engine on my router, but to no avail. I just wanna know if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
