I don't understand why D-Link doesn't reply except with cookie cutter replies that say that 'we don't support that multifunction printer.' The scanning functions on these printers don't change from model to model. They are all TWAIN compliant, but D-Link seems to have a list of multifunction printers that "approved" multifunction printers that our printer is tested against. If it isn't on the list, then it disables the scanning function. Right now, I am putting in a request with the main technical engineer that on this forum (Lycan), and I am going to raise issue with the D-Link Support department again. I think that D-Link should give the end user the option of enabling or disabling the scanner function. Instead of completely disabling it, just warn the end user that since it is not a device model that D-Link specifically tested, it may not be supported, but I think it would be in most cases even if it weren't on the list of "approved" devices. If D-Link does not fix this issue, I will directly file a complaint with the BBB and send a complaint to D-Link Corporate to push this issue forward.
