Hey-Lo peeps....

..been a while since I last posted, but I seem to have encountered a really annoying problem with my VOIP application.

So, here's what I have :

- Primus Canada's Talk Broadband service
- LinkSys SPA 2102 (provisioned and assigned by Primus Canada) VOIP Router Adapter
- D-Link DIR-655 Router
- Internet service provided by Rogers HI-SPEED
- Motorola SB5100 Cable Modem

So like a week ago everything was ok when suddenly my SPA2102 VOIP Router Adapter cra*ped out on me. I called Primus Canada through Skype and they sent me a replacement one. This new one is not blinking red anymore and the lights seem to flicker the usual yellow colour as it should.

Here's the problem : The phone line will work for like an hour or two, but then it just cra*s out again. The only difference is that the replacement unit does not blink red, so I'm confident it's not the SPA2102 Voip Router Adapter.

Here's how I have it hooked up.

- Ethernet cable runs from PC to an available D-Link DIR-655 port
- Motorola SB5100 Cable Modem's ethernet cable runs to D-Link DIR-655 "Internet" port
- LinkSys SPA2102 ethernet cable runs from the internet port to an available D-Link DIR-655 port.
- Phone is obviously connected to the Phone 1 port and plugged into the AC outlet
- Obviously D-Link DIR-655 router & Motorola SB5100 Cable Modem are also plugged into AC outlet.

*NOTE* Recently I added a 50' Cat-6 cable running from my Blu-Ray player to an available D-Link DIR-655 port.
My wife is convinced that whenever the VOIP dies, if she powers on the Blu-Ray player, it wakes up the system and the VOIP becomes active. I know it sounds kinda crazy, but she's demonstrated this 3 times and each time she was able to replicate a successful jump-start (if you will) to our VOIP line.

On a final note...a fellow Primus forum dweller was kind enough to help me set up QOS for my D-Link DIR-655. I followed his directions to a tee but still have this problem.

What gives?
