Problems with uptime
« on: April 18, 2010, 05:10:12 PM »

I just want to say I do love this router, but I've had some problems with the uptime lately. Before I could get about 18 days uptime until it rebooted itself, and now it's doing it about every 5 hours to 1 day. Anybody have any ideas?

DIR-655 A4 1.33NA

I was wondering if I go to 1.21 will that fix my problem??

I know nobody cared to reply to my post, so I'll just say what I did. I downgraded to 1.21 without securespot and ALL IS WELL. I haven't had any problems since I've done this. The router slows down the wireless every 10-14 days requiring a reboot, but hey I'm ok with that.

The reboots are a well known "feature" on this router .
Good that you could solve it by using an older firmware but i think the problem should be solved in later firmwares not by using older ones .

Did something change with your configuration to cause the reductions?

I'm using an A4 with the 1.34NA firmware, mine's been up for about 25 days now without a reboot.

That is good to know. I am going to post this question in the DIR-855 forum but I might as well ask anyone willing to listen here as well. What newer Wireless AP from D-Link works better/more stable than this one???
