Hi All;
First a newbie question: can I search the forum threads here? I don't know if my question has been asked before.
Anyway, I have a small machining biz and put in a DNS-323 hoping it would do an internal FTP job for me. One of my machines uses a UNIX base controller and gets it's data files from an FTP server. (I do not need internet access to it so security is not a concern)
I have the FTP server up and working and I can access it from my machine and Windows computers but my machine cannot read the directories. When I had the FTP server setup on my Windows computer, there was an option called "Directory Listing Style" and the valid choices were "UNIX" or "MS-DOS". My machine requires this setting to be UNIX. If it was set to DOS my machine had the exact problem I have right now: it can get onto the the FTP server but can't "see" anything.
Anyone know how to get around this? I'm a little surprised that a Linux box doesn't do this by default since the UNIX setting never affected any of my Windows computer's ability to use the service.
Thanks!
Kev
