Hello,

I have a DIR-655 router, a DWA-552 card installed in a desktop computer that has windows xp home and a DWA652 installed to my laptop that has Windows vista home premium withouth sp1.

Router H/W A2 1.11
Card Driver 1.30

I am streaming videos from my desktop DWA-552 and DWA-652 laptop is the reciepient I got a lot of freezing issues.  I look in the router log and I got a lot of Deauthentication message every time it freeze.

I tried eliminating the wireless and connect everything by wire and there is no problem with disconnection and freezing all good but wires is a mess:-).

I tried connecting my laptop by wire and the desktop wirelessly and see if the DWA-552 can have better connection but that card still having connecting problem even if the router and the card are four feet apart I'm still getting deauthentication message.

I also tried connecting desktop DWA-552 via wire and DWA-652 laptop wirelessly and this has a better connection and less error message.

If i look at the stats it's  signal is at 100% and sometime reach the 300 mark but moving a lot 17-54-250 etc.

I tried playing with the settings.  Get it to a specific channel 11, with 20/40 and WPA2 encryption and just set it up to recieve n/g only and has no luck.

Any suggestions guys?

 Like ETA on the next Firmware release?.

Another problem came up.  If the Wireless card and wired network card that is installed in one computer are connected to the router at the same time my network is locked out like everything stopped.  It locked the rest of my computer connected to the router and they cant connect to the internet or cant connect to other computer.

I have to either disable the wireless card or unplug the wire connected to the network card to get things working again.

Is the router running MAC filtering?
How about the ENCRYPTION?

The settings I have is below

WPA Personal
WPA2 Only
AES
3600

No mac filtering. Turn MAC Filtering off. 

Is there a reason why I am recieving the deathentication message?  Is there any adjustment I can do with the router to eliminate some problems at least?

Just FYI, I have another laptop that's running XP pro with 54g wireless that I recently connected to DIR-655 with current router settings and the connection didn't miss a beat.  Strange.

Hi  newguy110,

I would have been up a lot longer than the 4 days currently. I turned off the power strip to correct a different problem.

Set up your Wireless settings to:

802.11 mode to 802.11n only.
Uncheck Enable Auto Channel Scan
Wireless Channel - Select Wireless Channel 10.
Set Internal Transmission Rate to MCS 11-52 (108) Mbit/s
Channel Width: Auto 20/40 Mhz

Note: Establish 300.0 Mbps before changing the 802.11 mode to Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g for your other laptop.

Why do i get this error message in the log section of the router?

"Wireless system with MAC address 001DE0612DE1 disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication."

Thanks thecreator for the tip,

I did the adjustments and 300 speed is atainable and when you copy big files and it's blazing fast no complain there:-).  When you look the Network activities in the task manager while it's copying the file its like there is a rythm where it drops every five minutes that's where the deathenthications happen.

Just FYI, I'm just reporting what I find.

I tried the DIR-655 MSBeta39 from the link above and I got a little better performance but the Deuthentication still shows up.

With my current router settings I have the N running at 270 -300 speed and the G at 54 speed but the G connection is more stable that the N so far I find connected to the router.

Replacing your router will NOT help... internet are PLENTY of people with same problem (including me)... is a big problem with router (including "g" mode too) and D-Link NOT discovered yet... D-Link DOESN`t know what is causing "Received Deauthentication" until today... support will not help you in this moment....

Thanks for the info fgl30,

I'm a patient guy I can wait for the next firmware release=:-).  I just didn't get any response that's why.  This is my second DLINK router and I'm very happy with my first router DI-524 that I retire and put it back in the box and I'm keeping it as a backup. I got this DIR-655 to upgrade my network and surprise to find this problem.

Anyway If there something we can do or test that we can run we'll be happy to help or give dlink some more info.

We are attempting to isolate the issue. So far it's been difficult as we can not find a LCD (lowest common denominator) to start at. Any information you can provide about the machines that getting De-authed, would be helpful.

The DIR-655 is currently in the MSBeta 39 firmware.
Wireless Settings
Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g
Wireless Channel 10
Channel Width Auto 20/40
WPA2 Only
AES
3600

No QoS, Wish or MAC Filtering

Desktop has DWA-552
AMD 3000+ with 1gig Memory
Windows XP home edition with sp2
Driver 1.30

Laptop has DWA-652
Gateway 1.7 with dual core with 2 gig memory
Windows Vista 32 Home Premium Ed w/out sp
Driver 1.30

Laptop has Intel(R) Pro-Wireless 3945ABG
Dell D820 1.8 dual core with 2 gig memory
Windows XP Pro w/ sp2

All can be connected wirelessly or by wire. Both the DWA cards is experiencing deuthentication by wireless connection. 

Lycan, is there a specific information that you want to know or setting that you want me to find out?

What are your settings on the "advanced wireless" page?  Look at "WMM Enable" in particular.  I was seeing performance issues when connecting via wireless "N" mode with my DWA-652 and found that turning on "WMM Enable" solved the problems.  You can see that thread in the DWA-652 forum.

Hello Karl, I tried it with WMM check and unchecked but did not make a difference.  We'll keep trying.
