Just bought the DPR1260. I have different PCs with XP, Vista, and Win 7 ultimate 64 bit.
The printer is an Epson MFP, Stylus Photo RX600.
The first lesson I learned is that I need to install ALL drivers for the MFP printer, including
print and scan drivers, even if I don't use that function. After that, DPR1260 worked with
Vista and XP without any problem.
Win 7 is a different story. It just would not print. After 30 minutes on the phone with the D-LINK
tech support, they gave me a round-about solution. After some more comparing on my part,
my conclusion is that the DPR1260 need to be configured to have static IP address.
The dynamic IP address setting is OK with Vista but does not work with Win 7. I changed to static
IP address on DPR1260 and re-installed the print set up on Win 7 and it finally worked.
A couple more tidbits:
1. Both Vista and Win 7 reported that "program may not be installed correctly" after the
print setup (an .exe) file was executed during the last step of setup. I just ignored it and it still works fine.
2. My anti-virus program keep thinking the said .exe file is suspicious and keeps removing it
before it can be executed. I had to temporarily disable the anti-virus program to execute this file. Subsequent virus scans did not show any virus at all. Wierd, isn't it?
