So the modem and router are in his room. He doesn't want to go wireless, and thus he doesn't want the router in your room? If this the case, it makes alot of sense. But then why not just connect the new router (this router)to his modem? 4500, like most wireless routers, have 4 wired ethernet ports. Just use wired for his room and go wireless to yours. Or run a ethernet wire from his room to yours. Or get Poweline network adapter.
If he doesn't mind the router in your room, call your ISP and pay the 30-40$ to move the modem into the other room and get a outlet reconfigured in there. As long as they don't have to wallfish, they should be OK. Also, they won't be able to configure the 4500.
