D-ViewCam Using on another screen
« on: April 27, 2010, 04:36:12 PM »

I have my D-ViewCam 3.0 setup on my computer but it will not let me drag the application onto my other screen (I have a dual screen setup). I was wondering if this was at all possible?

Not with current versions (up to 3.01) ... If your OS allows for Remote desktop, then you could login loopback remote desktop (terminal server only supported on 'higher level' windows systems, so not on home [premium]) with a screen on secondary monitor.

EDIT: 3.01 still does not allow this.

A trick that I've found works for me - D-view Cam always seems to want to display on monitor #1 - regardless of whether that monitor is the system monitor or not.

What I did is make the monitor that I wanted the software to open up on physically #1 ( put the cable in the first output) and connect my second monitor to the other port. Then (in windows) make monitor #2 the primary monitor for the system - that gets your task bar on #2, move your sidebar and icons to #2 and you should not have any conflicts from there.

This is just what worked for me, your mileage may vary.
