Manual reboot after firmware update settings restore.
« on: May 15, 2010, 07:42:03 PM »

Hi,

I installed the latest beta firmware (134b03NA). The update went fine. But when I restored my settings the router disconnected me and did not work. The lights on the front were flickering but I could not connect to the router at all. I then had to pull the plug and do a hard reboot. When it came up again the old settings were there and I could connect just fine. Still I wonder if something went wrong and if I should restore the settings again. I also wonder why I had this problem in the first place. Anyone?

some folks say that they had to do hard reset once or twice after flashing to a new ROM version, altho nobody seems to know why this is the case....it just is for some folks.

I had to do this BEFORE I flashed to even get my update to take properly...

You can also try a Factory Reset before upgrading to a new firmware, that has seemed to help many people.  Save your conig file, do the factory reset, flash, restore config.

Thanks for good advice and info. What I really wonder is if I need to do this all over again. The router works fine and my original settings seems to be in place so I am hoping not.
